Jason was born in Nebraska but spent the majority of his life living abroad in Europe and Asia growing up in a US Air Force family. Jason joined the Army after high school and spent the next 24 years in the Airborne light infantry and Special Operations. During his time in the US Army, Jason completed 6 combat deployments in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Philippines and Africa. His final assignment was to USAJFKSWCS, Fort Bragg, NC as a Civil Affairs instructor. Since retiring in 2017, Jason continues to train future Special Operation students at Camp Mackall, NC as a contractor.

His hobbies include anything in the great outdoors; scuba diving, photography, shooting and hand forging knives. Throughout his life, the love and enjoyment of the outdoors has never changed. He currently resides in Sanford, NC with his wife and daughter on their 13-acre horse farm.
